SONIC
PROPULSION SYSTEMS, STERNDRIVES & SAILDRIVES
Sillette-Sonic was
founded in 1975 producing the Sonic 100 sterndrive. This model is still
in production in almost its original form. Now however, it is joined by
many variations of propulsion system under the banner of "sonic"
and "hydrodrive".

neutral reverse gearbox 1.6:1 or 2:1 ratio inbuilt, couples to engine

A direct drive
unit 1:1 for coupling to standard marine engine and gearbox, input
torque 14kg/mtr max.

A direct drive
unit with choice of 1.3:1 or 1.7:1 reduction ratio for coupling
to a standard marine engine and 1:1 gearbox. Input torques 45kg/mtr

All
sterndrives are steerable and have tilt lifting features. The 100 and
70 have optional hydraulic tilt, either manually or electro-hydraulically
operated. The 250 has optional electro-hydraulic power trim and tilt.

from the Sonic 100 - incorporates sterndrive features of the
100 and is available in lengths of 800, 900 and 1000 mm between
centre of input flange and prop shaft. Maximum input torque
10kg/mtr.

Similar
to the SONIC70 and available in lengths of 800, 900, 1000
and 1200 mm. Maximum input torque 15kg/mtr. The catamaran
drives are normally mounted from the Bridge Deck or in a pod
slung beneath - all have lifting feature of 70 and 100 drive.

SAILDRIVES:

The transmission
in this unit is identical to the SONIC100 with forward, neutral
and reverse gearbox. There is a choice of 1.6:1 or 2:1 reduction
ratios for flywheel coupling. Maximum input torque 15kg/mtr.
Saildrives can be supplied in 'z' or
'c' configuration.

Lower unit is
identical to MK2 upper unit, manufactured to accept flange mounted
hydraulic motors with keydrive, ie. F11-19, F11-28 and F11-39. Specials
manufactured also to fit electric motors. These units can be used
for main propulsion or bow thruster application maximum input torque
11kg/mtr: Sonic Hydraulic bow thruster available.
